The Clutter Breakthrough – Five-Steps to Lasting Change

1

Anything that results in lasting effective change takes time to solidify. Like the fable that tells us a house built on sand
The Clutter Breakthrough

The Clutter Breakthrough

will crumble or the story of the little pig’s home made of hay or twigs that is quickly blown away, so it is with resolving clutter issues if you don’t go below the surface.   You must build on a strong foundation.
Since clutter is rarely about the stuff it makes sense that you need to understand the root of the clutter issue in order to begin the “cleaning” process.
There are five steps that, when applied consistently, can begin to create lasting resolution from the need to collect and begin to build a strong base for going forward to healing.
1. Acknowledge – we can’t change what we don’t acknowledge. This doesn’t mean acknowledge the clutter as much as it means believe and accept there’s a deeper meaning to the clutter.
2. Investigate – Once you are willing to see that “It’s not about the stuff” you can look a little deeper into what clutter is the symptom of; unresolved grief, fear of intimacy, maybe a resentful heart.
3. Release – The work is in the investigation and release of those thoughts and feelings that no longer serve you to achieve the life you want to live. Give yourself the gift of healing the wounds that keep you stuck.
4. Maintain – Slight persistent effort through daily self care keeps the clutter at bay. Mental clutter clean up can be maintained with positive affirmations, physical clutter with daily or regular purging, spiritual clutter with meditation and quiet time to go inside and take care of your spirit.
5. Share – Pay it forward. Share your success and experience with someone else who is stressed out and overwhelmed by their clutter.
